Princesse Albert de Broglie

Portait of Princesse Albert de Broglie, nee Josephine-Eleonore-Marie-Pauline de Galard de Brassac de Bearn (oil on canvas, 1853, at the Met). Painted by jean auguste dominique ingres....I thrifted a book and started reading about jean auguste dominique ingres. This is my very favorite, honestly it looks like a photograph. The shadows on the dress creases and the chair upholstery are phenomenal. To me this is the best of both worlds, thrifting+book= fun!

Hodge Podge...A mixture of dissimilar ingredients; a jumble.

More pictures today of thrift things. And a very odd combination at that! I am so torn and really don't know what to do. I love Retro Modern, shabby chic, beachy cottage, Marie Antoinette dreamy things, pastels, Victorian, I want to learn digital software, I want to read about Art, I want to learn how to sew, I have been cross stitching .............. I love old fabric and trim,.....Calgon take me away! It makes me dizzy.......

Aren't these graphics cool! I got a laptop so my husband was transferring all my data to it. I am sitting typing on it now, we are going out of town some next month so I wanted to be able to take my computer with me. I want to learn digital photography software. I think I am going to go with Photoshop elements. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear from you.

The Courts of Europe
A Ball at the French Court Painted by an anonymous artist c.1581 (Louvre,Paris)

This a a beautiful book Edited by A.G. Dickens. I am reading and looking at the pictures. It examines twelve courts from 1400-1800. I bought it yesterday for $2.50 cents...... I am drawn to books right now on the Louvre and Paris and anything Marie. I found this beautiful picture of Marie Antoinette and her children....
